Local Vermont Tallow

Tallow has been an important food source since before written history. It is a purified source of fat rendered from beef suet, and is a rich source of fat-soluble vitamins, skin-identical fatty acids, and deep nourishment for cracked and injured skin. It's a fully edible ingredient that provides deeply protective moisture for many hours.

Our tallow is sourced directly from small family farms in Vermont, U.S.A.

Castor Oil

A very sustainable oil extracted from castor beans. Castor oil absorbs slowly and is rich in ricinoleic acid, a deeply moisturizing fatty acid that penetrates and softens dry, chapped lips while giving balms a smooth, glossy finish.

Beeswax

A biomimetic wax that's fully edible.
Beeswax forms a natural, breathable barrier on the lips that locks in moisture while shielding against wind and dryness, making it a gentle, long-lasting base for soft, protected lips.

Hemp Seed Oil

To balance the other thick, occlusive ingredients, we included a generous dose of hemp seed oil. A fully edible culinary oil, it is rich in Omega 3, 6, and 9 fatty acids, providing moisture deep down beneath the surface. Balancing the formula this way means our formula does more than temporarily shield lips; it also sinks in deeply to keep lips smooth.

Shea Butter

Shea butter is made from the shea nut and is native to Africa. For generations, shea butter has been consumed for its nutrition and applied externally to moisturize dry, damaged skin. Shea butter is extremely high in unsaponifiable content and contains triterpenes, tocopherol, and sterols. It soothes a broken skin barrier and accelerates healing.
