Mil Usos LLC is a female-founded skincare line focused on delivering elevated skincare for athletes and adventure seekers. Founder and jiu jitsu athlete, Becky Williams, recognized the need for effective, minimalist skincare that addressed “sweat acne” and other concerns arising from high contact sports. She also wanted products that were easy to transport to and from the gym, races, and other athletic events. 

She leaned into creating fragrance-free, gender-neutral, and environmentally friendly skincare products when she couldn’t find what she wanted online or in stores. Williams’ athletic journey began at the age of seven with her first ballet class. As she grew older, she expanded her passion for movement by teaching pole dance classes at a boutique studio before relocating to Peru. There, in the heart of the Andes Mountains, Becky embraced a minimalist lifestyle, living in a simple adobe brick home without indoor plumbing, internet, or nearby grocery stores. Her days were spent outdoors, engaged in physical labor, leading backpacking excursions, and managing the community-based tour company she founded. She traveled halfway around the world to study yoga at an ashram in Lonavala, India, just before embarking on her jiu jitsu journey in late 2014. Today, she holds a purple belt in jiu jitsu and regularly switches between fighting and dance.

Williams noticed that each athletic pursuit took a unique toll on the skin. Jiu jitsu increased skin infection exposure, so the microbiome needed to be bolstered without harsh cleansers and irritating essential oils. Running often led to chafing and blisters. Extended hiking trips resulted in sunburn and bug bites. Swimming needed extra cushiony moisture. Pole dancing needed alternative methods to soften skin that wouldn't create slippage on the apparatus.

Her lifestyle also involved frequent travel, whether for races, competitions, training sessions, immersive camps, or adventure trips, often far from home. Even the transition from gym to work demanded a straightforward, high-quality personal care routine that could keep up with her active schedule.

Because Wiliams trained so hard in so many different athletic pursuits, she expected her personal care products to work just as hard. When she couldn’t find what she wanted on a shelf or online, she started a new adventure – developing her own line of multi-purpose skincare products:
